Research lab in digital science
The GREYC lab realizes research works in the field of digital science. It has 7 research groups with faculty members from ENSICAEN, UNICAEN and CNRS, PhD students and administrative & technical members. Studies focus on fundamental and methodological aspects – modeling, new concepts – and also practical achievements: development of applications and software platforms, design and production of electronic devices.
Areas of expertise are: algorithm modeling and analysis, security computer, decision support and data mining, artificial intelligence, image processing and understanding, natural language processing, microelectronics, instrumentation and sensors.
The GREYC lab is developing its research with the constant concern for technology transfer and training through research.
The GREYC lab is developing its research with the constant concern for technology transfer and training through research. Many collaborations, often multidisciplinary (mathematics, linguistics, geography, psychology, medicine, chemistry, physics) at regional, national (UMR CNRS, CEA, INRIA, IRD, etc.), international levels and industrial (Orange, NXP, Thales, EADS, SNECMA, IN, Safran, etc.), illustrate the dynamic of the laboratory.
Holder of numerous contracts and projects, the GREYC lab participates in the activity of competitiveness clusters (TES, Mov’eo, Equin, Cap Digital, Systematic). The filing of patents, the supervision CIFRE thesis held in conjunction with industry and the spin-offs of several companies created by GREYC members illustrate the impact of scientific activities of this laboratory in the economic life. The GREYC Laboratory is part of the strategic cluster “Digital Science” at Normandy University and the Regional Normand Network of Interest (RIN) “Digital Normandy”. It is the largest research laboratory in Normandy (180 members).
